Bumi Ayu Temple is the only temple in South Sumatra, since today has founded at least 9 temples at the location, 4 of them have been restored, those are Temple 1st , Temple 2nd , Temple 3rd and temple 8th.
Any chance to restore the temple have done since 1990 until now, supported by ‘APBN’ funds. Apart from that, Muara Enim’s government also have helped with many big participation, such as rise a main-road and field museum. Bumi Ayu Temple area covers 75,26 Ha, with the outer borders are seven rivers which many of them have been flatted by sediments.
Bumi Ayu temple is situated in Bumi Ayu village, Tanah Abang district, about 85 kilometers from Muara Enim town and accessible by road. Now, Candi Bumi Ayu is under research and restore process, as a result much information haven’t been known, whereas the written information of the temple is being studied.
