Danau Ranau Lake is a second of largest lake in Sumatra. It is situated in Bandung Agung district, about 125 kilometers from Baturaja, the capital town of OKI regency. The lake created by tectonic earthquake and vulcanic eruption that became a big crater. Base on geographical topography Danau Ranau lake is surrounded by hills range and Mount Seminung in the background, so its temperature is cool and fresh.
On the top of the hill and around the lake valley there are coffee, tobacco, clove, and cinnamon plantation, also second crop farms. In the other sides of the lake there are hot water springs spout from inside the lake. The other interesting place is Pulau Marisa not far apart from the springs.
